Nestled at the foot of the mountain after which it is named, Saronsberg wine estate is a contemporary addition to the rich heritage of Tulbagh valley. It was formed late in 2002 when Waveren and Welgegund - two farm portions of the historic Twee Jonge Gezellen were purchased and combined to create a unique location for this progressive winery.

One of the largest wine competitions in the world, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles culminates with awards being presentenced in May each year. The International Union of Oenologists who organize the event are based in Belgium, although the judging has been conducted in numerous countries over the years and over 40 nationalities are represented on the tasting panel who determines the medal winners.
